BurnaBoy’s album titled “African Giant” gets nominated for the 62nd Grammy Award under the “Best World Music Album” category.
The Nigerian afropop singer has in recent times gained a lot of exposure and playtime following his hits and popularity.
The nomination was announced this afternoon following Grammy’s nomination ceremony live on their various social media handles.
BurnaBoy’s nomination is the first of its kind in Nigeria as no other Nigerian has been nominated for this category before.
The category features musical albums with at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental world music recordings.
This is a welcomed news following the fact that BurnaBoy was recently dropped off from an African Unite event scheduled to hold in South Africa following his social media dispute with South African rapper; AKA.
